Make tax matters interesting with video

The message 'Don't leave money on the table' about tax matters on the Aangiftecheck website is being read, but nothing is being done about it. This forms the basis for the two videos that will be used during the campaign of the Taxpayers' Association.

Research shows that Dutch taxpayers leave a staggering 95 million euros in tax benefits unclaimed each year. To assist people in correctly filling out their tax returns, the Taxpayers' Association has developed the Aangiftecheck.

These videos about tax matters are distributed via social media. This is a powerful marketing tool to reach the potential target audience. The challenge here is to attract the attention of your specific target audience amidst the abundance of content available.

To give tax matters a different image, we captured reactions of people finding a banknote on the street using a 'hidden camera'. After all, free money grabs attention. Will they pick up the banknote or not? Why is it there? And what do they do with it? Subsequently, filling out the Aangiftecheck is linked to this situation, with the call to not leave money lying around.

The result of these two videos in the Taxpayers' Association campaign has led to a doubling in the completion of the Aangiftecheck. The effective use of social media and the creation of curiosity and engagement have contributed to this success.

It is important to raise awareness among people about the potential tax benefits they are missing out on and to encourage them to take action. By using engaging videos and the power of social media, the message can be effectively spread, and people can be motivated to use the Aangiftecheck and not leave the money they are entitled to lying around.
